Case: H. Gewing GmbH Easy to use, modular design.
The Lorch cobot has proven itself in every respect in practical use.
H. Gewing GmbH, based in Ahaus in the Münsterland region, specialises in metal and sheet metal working. The owner-managed family business has made a name for itself through the production and processing of sheet metal and profiles, as well as the manufacture of everything from series-produced parts to complex assemblies for a wide range of requirements and industrial sectors. Operating from a 30,000-square-metre site with an extensive range of machinery, H. Gewing GmbH primarily manufactures for companies in the automotive, vehicle construction, agricultural and construction machinery sectors, as well as for plant and mechanical engineering. Lorch Cobot Welding Solutions have been in successful use at Gewing for five years. The company was impressed by both the system’s simple programming and operation, as well as its modular design, which makes it possible at any time to adapt the cobot to a wide variety of welding tasks and to make production even more efficient.
H. Gewing GmbH at a glance.
Easy programming:
Thanks to the user-friendly Cobotronic software,
weld seams for a wide variety of components can be programmed quickly.
Innovative additional features for cobot welding.
Cobot Move, Cobot Turn 100 A, SeamPilot, Multilayer.
At Gewing, in addition to the basic equipment, further features have been selected to make production with the cobot even more efficient: The Cobot Move linear axis extends the working radius to 4.5 m, enabling even very long workpieces and multiple components to be welded automatically in multi-station operation. The Cobot Turn 100 A swivel-tilt table enables the welding of complex components and circumferential seams in a continuous program sequence. SeamPilot uses a line laser to independently detect the weld seam and follows it automatically – ideal for fillet welds and complex paths, and without the need for time-consuming teaching. And thanks to Multilayer, only one pass needs to be programmed for multi-pass welding; the cobot calculates all subsequent passes automatically. Furthermore, flexible table control allows the number of passes, torch position and angle, as well as heat control and welding speed, to be precisely adapted to the requirements.
Larger working area with Cobot Move:
Using the Cobot Move extends the welding cobot’s operating radius to 4.5 metres. This means that even very long weld seams can be carried out by the Lorch Cobot.
Always welding in the optimal position:
With the help of the Cobot Turn 100 A rotary tilting table, the Lorch cobot welds circumferential seams in a continuous program sequence with ease and great efficiency.
Welding at the touch of a button with the autopilot:
With SeamPilot, the operator simply defines a rough starting point; the line laser then searches for and locates the seam to be welded entirely on its own and follows it to the end point.
Impressive in practical use.
- Easy to operate
- Customisable system configuration thanks to a modular design
- Extended working radius of 4.5 m
