With SpeedWave XT, Lorch is expanding its successful Speed process technology to include an innovative, high-end welding (process) for demanding aluminium and stainless steel applications. The modified pulsed arc combines cyclically varying energy with an adjustable wave frequency – whilst maintaining a constant wire feed speed.
The result: maximum control over the weld pool and significantly improved welding results under difficult conditions.

Fewer pores
The aggitaed weld pool promotes improved degassing of the material. Gas inclusions can escape more effectively – resulting in weld seams with fewer pores and higher quality.
Reduced susceptibility to cracking
Targeted frequency modulation results in grain refinement within the solidifying material. This improves the metallurgical properties of the weld seam and reduces the risk of cracking.
High-quality weld appearance
SpeedWave XT produces an exceptionally fine seam pattern – a key advantage for applications where aluminium and stainless steel are visible.
Innovative process dynamics.
SpeedWave XT is based on a modified pulsed arc with cyclically varying energy. The adjustable wave frequency operates in the range of 4 to 40 Hz, thereby significantly expanding the possibilities of previous pulsed processes.
